Data Type Error Reports

Unfortunately, following a failed student import, we realized that one of our data points from our full file was not being received correctly and was therefore not updating in BAM for months. Per BAM Support, data type errors are not marked as part of the import process and would not cause an import to fail. In other words, unless we had caught it via a different error, we might never have noticed that one of our data points - Admissions App Received Date - was not being loaded for students.

 

We would like to request that BAM either a) calls out Data Type errors on the Student Import success/failure email to users or b) follow up with users if they see any Data Type Errors in their system.

    Data type errors will now appear on the User Imports page, after a file has been fully parsed.
