UW-Madison would also support this enhancement. Our initial request was for accent marks/diacritics to be available, especially given that some Donor names include them and are public-facing (and we want accuracy), but we think this broader enhancement would be helpful too

College of San Mateo is requesting the General Application and Apply-To scholarship opportunities be available in other languages such as Spanish. We are also a Hispanic serving institution and believe offering our application in other languages would be beneficial to our students.

more context from merged enhancement from sbcc:

Is it possible to offer the General Application, Conditional Application(s) and any Apply-To opportunities in a language other than English if the main language is already English?

We are a Hispanic serving institution and being able to provide the scholarship application in Spanish to our students would be a great benefit. Currently, our ESL (English as a Second Language) students don't apply for scholarships because they are overwhelmed by the application and answering questions incorrectly. We offer assistance, however, it can take 40 minutes to help just one student. We also import most of the qualifying criteria from BANNER, but because a FAFSA is not required, we need to ask for certain financial information in the scholarship application itself, which can be confusing to a non-English speaker.

One thing we are unsure about is the review of these non-English scholarship applications. Most of our reviewers do not speak Spanish, so we would need the capability of having the personal statement either be translated back into English, or leave the personal statement as English only.

From merged enhancement SMM-I-1225: Harper College (harpercollege) is requesting the ability for all applications to translate in Spanish. Ideally, they would like to have a translate button for Spanish for the applications.
