We have some upset customers who relied on the applied date in automatch opportunities AND on the applications tab of the user accounts for a series of purposes. First, these customers have rolling deadlines/admissions and need to repeatedly ensure folks are getting in their application on time for that admissions cycle (these are done weekly). Without the applied on date showing in the automatch opportunities, it becomes exceedingly challenging to determine eligibility without a series of excessive workarounds.
Second, when taking applicant support calls (i.e., an applicant calls in or the customer needs to respond to a walk-in) customers are going to the applications tab on the user account. Now that it shows season instead of applied on date, there's no easy way to see an overview of the applicant's application history. Since those applications might be from past cycles altogether, the seasons can be challenging to interpret, etc.
UTI Foundation and Western Governors University in particular want this date back. For Western Governors, too, they export the applications grid out of the opportunities in this portfolio: https://wgu.academicworks.com/admin/portfolios/37. The then import those opportunities back into Salesforce for ensuring folks are being enrolled/communicated with/awarded/etc. based on the applied on date. Without the date existing now, their process is unfortunately completely halted/broken.
