The issue isn’t specifically with the phrasing “apply”… but “automatically matched”. I completely understand apply-to’s… and even the ones that require the application answers…
But for all those that we can and likely will auto match on draft – which should be a significant portion of our awards, that error message is misleading. And during our trainings, we’ve said in training sessions that the students do not need to do ANYTHING and could still be considered for scholarships.
With the message saying that the students won’t be able to be automatically matched to any opportunities until they complete their application, however, we are contradicting ourselves… and not over a small matter.
See attached message, they would like to update this as the majority of their scholarships are auto-matched as match on drafted.
Adding note from user with suggestion wording and thoughts:
The biggest issue is that phrase automatically matched. I can completely understand the “You won’t be able to apply to any specific opportunity until you complete your general application”… but if we remove the “automatically matched”, we would be quite happy here.
That alleviates us looking foolish from things like telling students they don’t need to do anything if they choose not to and then them seeing something directly contradicting that on the site.
