Ability to dynamically access a hosted data source on an applicant facing question

Client has a list of institutions served up through a rest API. The Schools table has over 6 thousand records in it. Over 6 thousand records makes a lousy pull down list for applicants to select from. Could AW present a pulldown list of relevant choices based on a query of this table? For example: In response to the question “What high school did you attend?” a more relevant list of 13 High Schools could be presented in the Applicants County. The rest API could return a object to the Academic Works system.

    stlouisgraduates would like this functionality as well.  They do not have an import file, and many of their opps qualify on county.  She estimates that 15% of applicants do not enter a correct county.  As a work around, she wants to qualify on zip code, but they have a list of thousands of zip codes since they are growing to be state wide, and this will be cumbersome.  She was hoping the system could determine county based on zip code.
