Indiana University is a CUUI client and use the Remote Identity API. This creates users in the background that get authenticated and matched upon sign-in. Anyone affiliated with IU - applicants, faculty, staff - needs to sign-in using the "Applicants and Administrators" sign-in tab. Those not affiliated (external reviewers and/or external references) must use the "References and Reviewers" tab to sign-in.
Despite the ability to customize the instruction text on each tab (see screenshots attached), we have multiple users per week who end up creating duplicate accounts for various reasons, but more likely because they are not reading the instructions since the tab names are misleading. So for those who are IU affiliated reviewers or references, they tend to sign-in using the "References and Reviewers" tab when they should be using the "Applicants and Administrators" tab.
The labels of these tabs is extremely confusing. IU would like to request the ability to customize the tab labels so as to avoid the confusion of users logging in using the incorrect tab. For example, instead of the tab saying "Applicants and Administrators," we'd label it something along the lines of "IU Students, Faculty & Staff" and the "References and Reviewers" tab would be relabeled to something like "Non-IU References and Reviewers."
Having the ability to update those tab labels will save the References, Reviewers, Opportunity Administrators, System Admins and BAM Support team a lot of time that is currently spent on researching if it's a duplicate account, determining which account is the correct one and which should be disabled, and then submitting a support ticket to get the user account resolved. If that is not possible, having the system be "smart" enough to know when someone types in an IU email address on the incorrect tab, the user should be redirected to the correct tab for sign-in/authentication.

This is getting harder and harder now that BB is forcing BBID with TFA. Our on-campus users simply don't want to create a new account for a system they can have automatic access to through SSO.
The tab names should be able to be changed to something more clear like "Students, Faculty, and Staff" login and "External References and Reviewers" login.
I agree also. Waste of time every year going back and forth with support to deactivate users and explain to faculty whey they can't upload a reference. PLEASE GIVE US SOME LEADWAY ON THIS ISSUE!
I completely agree with this. When a reviewer only utilizes the system once a year, it is confusing to them. I spend so much of my time during our review period walking them through the correct way to access the system. (Even though we emphasize it in our email to them, they don't read it or don't understand it!)
We spend so much time on duplicates for this same reason! Changing the text is a great suggestion to help alleviate that.
