WLU is bypassing the initial offer though wants to communicate the students package details earlier than Advancement going in and asking for Post-Accceptance. Moving the students to Accepted cannot happen at this time as they want to trigger this email and open the questions up mid way through the year. It would be great if a custom category could be created and have an action capability to trigger a custom email with merge fields. Please let me know if you have any questions. Jennifer Davis Cammy

Mount Royal University would also like this functionality, though I would expand its scope. It would be useful to allow users to define what happens at each category (either when creating a new one or editing an existing one). For example, an admin could choose to send an email, start a process, or encumber a student at whichever category they choose. This opens up the flexibility greatly, while still meeting the requirements for this specific request.
Please see similar request from gcccd in the merged enhancement. Description below -
"For our process, we skip the Offered stage and go straight to Accepted because we don't use the post-acceptance features (student hand-write thank you notes). We still want a general email to trigger to student once we change them to Accepted, however we currently have to select Offered to trigger the email, then change to Accepted. This lets the student know that they received a scholarship, and that an official award letter with further details will be sent to them in the next few days. Can we have a new email template for the Accepted stage?"
See similar use case in merged enhancement 1261 from FSU. They are also asking that a custom role be emailed when an application is moved into a custom category.
Hi Carrie, I want to circle back around on this one as FSU has asked a lot about custom categories being created to trigger emails. For example today, they would like the ability to create a custom declination status that will trigger to an email just like offered once moved. The regret emails cannot be used as they open and close at different times. Adhoc emailing 100s of applicants per opportunity is going to be quite tedious being they can only do 50 at a time in each opp. Please add FSU Mary Ann Parks
